PRIVATE, LOCALLY-OWNED STORE RETURNS TO ITS ROOTS

VANCOUVER, WA September 22, 2015-After a 12-year absence, Hi-School Pharmacy has opened the doors of its new store in Vancouver on Sunday, September 20. The new store, located in the Minnehaha area at 3200 NE 52nd Street, brings the company’s unique blend of their familiar customer service, variety of merchandise, and community support back to Clark County.

Hi-School Pharmacy, a locally owned company, operates pharmacies in 30 Oregon and Southwest Washington communities. The store in Minnehaha is the first new store after a 12-year absence in the Vancouver market since the sale of 11 stores to Walgreens in 2003.

“Many people had asked when we would be back in Clark County,” says John Crawford, Chief Operating Officer. “We are excited to be back, and are very pleased with our new store, as we hope our customers will be.”

The new store features a modern, upscale décor package and energy efficient LED lighting. The 11,000 sq. ft. variety department includes a mix of health & beauty aids, housewares, Kodak photo kiosk, greeting cards, toys, school & office supplies, electronics, As Seen On TV, seasonal goods, as well as snack and grocery items. In addition, there is a freezer/cooler offering groceries, and beer and wine selections. The pharmacy boasts a drive-up prescription window and consultation/immunization privacy room.

“Our mission is to provide customers with convenience combined with superior customer service,” says Jack Holt, owner. “We look forward to becoming a helpful and valuable neighbor to the community, both inside and outside the walls of our store.”

A 6,200 sq. ft. full-line One Stop hardware department is being added and will open in early November. Key product offerings will include paint, lawn and garden, hardware, electrical, plumbing, automotive and home décor as well as niche products such as Valspar paint, Green Mountain Grills, DeWalt, Black & Decker, Stanley, Scotts and more.

The full-scale Grand Opening celebration is scheduled for the week of November 8th, with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 3pm on November 9th.

Jim Mickenham has been named as the Store Manager, and his sales team is comprised of members from the Minnehaha community, who may be familiar faces to customers. Austin Blakeslee has been selected as the Pharmacy Manager, and will work with local pharmacy technicians.
